Thyri Huld

Thyri Huld graduated from the Iceland Academy of Arts in 2011 with a BA in Contemporary dance.

She started an internship with The Iceland Dance Company in 2010 and joined the company the year after. Since then she has danced with The Iceland Dance Company on and off for 9 years. With The Iceland Dance Company she has worked with artists such as Erna Omarsdottir, Damian Jalet, Ohad Naharin, Anton Lachky and Martin Kilvady.

As a freelancer Thyri has both created her own work and danced for other artists. She created three pieces about the super hero kids Loco and Kicks with Hannes Þór Egilsson in 2014-2018, getting a nomination for choreographer of the year and children price of the year in the Icelandic theatre awards. Along with dancing, teaching and choreographing Thyri has also been the costume designer for various pieces.

Thyri got the Icelandic theatre awards as the dancer of the year 2015 and 2018.
