Victor A. O. Pedersen

Victor Amel Olivares Pedersen’s entry point to the art and practice of dance was through hiphop. He furthered by getting educated at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo (KHiO), where he attained his bachelor’s degree in jazz dance. His education had a strong focus on ballet, contemporary and jazz. During this time, he had the opportunity of working with several choreographers such as Erica Sobol, Masja Abrahamsen, Christopher Arouni, to name but a few.

Victor Amel Olivares Pedersen has been a member of Tabanka Dance Ensemble since 2015. Through Tabanka Victor has been educated in the Talawa Technique and have been assisting and teaching master classes in the technique around the world. Some of the places are Dakar (Senegal), P.A.R.T.S (Brussels, Belgium), Abuja (Nigeria), Toronto (Canada),  Philadelphia and Ohio (USA), and Leicester (UK).

With Tabanka, Victor has performed on some of the biggest stages in Norway such as The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet and Dansens Hus. He has also preformed in the UK, Switzerland and Canada, both as a soloist and an ensemble dancer.

Victor is interested in exploring emotions and how they translate to traceable movements. He is engaged with the combination of his knowledge of various styles to create strong expressions.

Victor was part of NSP2 (2020-2021).
