Torunn Robstad was educated at the Norwegian Opera Ballet School 1983-85 and at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center 1986-88.
As a freelance artist Torunn has worked with a number of choreographers and theatre directors including: Ingun Bjørnsgaard, Lise Eger, Jane Hveding, Karen Foss, Øyvind Jørgensen, Odd Johan Fritzøe, Kjersti Alveberg, Sølvi Edvardsen, Marit Moum Aune, Arnulf Haga, Ina Cristel Johannessen, Yngve Sundvord, Anzu Furukawa and Janne Camilla Lyster.
Torunn joined companies Carte Blanche from 1990-1992 and the Cullberg Ballet from 1995-2000. During which time she worked with choreographers: Arne Fagerholt, Jessica Iwanson, Tere O'Connor, Ina Christel Johannessen, Guiseppe Carbone, Mats Ek, Carolyn Carlson, Rui Horta, Jens Østberg and Linus Tunstrøm.
Robstad has also contributed in the television production produced by NRK OG SVT, featuring choreographies by Sølvi Edvardsen and Mats Ek.
