Shlomi Ruimi
Shlomi Ruimi-Askildsen was born in Beersheva, Israel in 1978 and lives in Bergen, Norway since 2003.
Shlomi has danced in companies around the world including Berlin Ballet Komisch Oper, Kibuts contemporary dance company and Bat-Dor Company. He has worked with choreographers such as Ina Christel Johannessen, Ingun Bjørnsgaard, Jo Strømgren, Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar, Hofesh Shechter, Club Guy&Roni, Deborah Colker and Meryl Tankard among others.
From 2004 to 2013 Shlomi was a member of Carte Blanche, the national company for contemporary dance in Norway under the artistic directors Bruno Heynderickx and Arne Fagerholt. Besides dancing professionally, he was teaching jazz classes at Bergen Dance Center, Bårdar Akademiet and PRODA, as well as choreographing for ESC Ungdomskompani and TIH (dancers creating) at Carte Blanche. He has been working as the rehearsal director of Carte Blanche since 2016.
In addition to dance, Shlomi also works as a professional makeup artist and hairdresser. He completed his hair education at the Adam and Eva school in Oslo, followed by a period where he worked at their salon at Steen & Strøm, also in Oslo. Shlomi was the ambassador of NYX cosmetics and Tromborg in Norway and worked as a head of makeup artists during the fashion weeks in New York and Oslo.
