Sarah Butler
Originally from just north of San Francisco, Sarah Butler received early dance training at the Marin Ballet School. She received her BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts and was a founding member of Danielle Agami’s Ate9 Dance Company from 2012 – 2020. Additionally, Sarah has performed in original works by Tom Weinberger, Jobel Medina, Alex Ketley, and others. She has guest taught at California Institute of the Arts, John Hopkins University, Cornish College of the Arts, and Ryan Heffington’s The Sweat Spot in Los Angeles.
Alongside movement, Sarah works in embroidery, wearable structure, poetry, photography, voice and song – building things and exploring how the weaving of seemingly separate mediums can result in something new. Her work has been shown as a part of DTLA Art Walk, Capitol Hill Art Walk, Franconia Sculpture Park, Woolen Mill Gallery, and was featured in Art Reveal Magazine.
