Matthea Lára Pedersen

Matthea Lára Pedersen was born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland, where she attended the National Ballet School of Iceland. In 2020 she graduated from the contemporary department at The Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm, Sweden. Here she performed pieces by Johan Inger, Fan Luo and Cilla Olsen. 

Matthea’s professional career started with an apprenticeship with MIR Dance Company under the direction of Giuseppe Spota in 2019. Here she worked with choreographers such as Ivgi & Greben, Giuseppe Spota, Antonin Comestaz and Mauro Bigonzetti. In 2020 Matthea started working with Cooperativa Maura Morales in Germany in their new creation Efecto Mariposa, that toured around Germany in 2021. She also worked with Helena Franzén in Sweden in her new creation Från och med nu and Javier Rodriguez in Switzerland for his new creation The importance of rituals and the terror that awaits if you don't perform them.

Matthea has also been in film projects and commercials both in Switzerland and Iceland. 

Matthea was part of NSP 2 (2021-2022).
