Matias Rønningen
Matias studied at the Norwegian Opera Ballet School and graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of the Arts in 2009. Ever since, he has worked with many choreographers and companies including: Sigurd Heide, Dansdesign, Kari Hoaas, Eivind Seljeseth, Heine Avdal & Yukiko Shinozaki, Suzie Davies & Mattias Ekholm, Helen Blackburn and Panta Rei Dance Theatre.
Since 2011 Matias has been an associate for Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt, and performed a number of works including: Omega & The Deer (2011), The Solitary Shame Announced By a Piano (1997/2012), Praeambulum (2013) and Rotating Nora (2014).
Matias received the National Artist Award for young artists in 2013. In the autumn of 2015, he joined the Norwegian National Ballet where he performed works choreographed by: Jiri Kylian, Liam Scarkett and Jo Strømgren.
Matias has also choreographed several of his own works, including: Anti-entropy (2011), Change (2013), Pavane (2014), and Between (2015).
