Lutz Deppe
Over eight years Lutz Deppe worked as a photographer for various labels like Wergo, Torofon, Weltwunderrecords and publishers like Du Mont, Prestel, Edition Cantz. During that period he participated in several exhibitions in Berlin, Hannover, and Cologne. From 1989 to 1992 Lutz Deppe was the single Photographer for Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin.
In 1995 he works the first time exclusivley with light. Together with Susanne Linke he realized the lighting for her dance film Maerkische Landschaften. After that he assisted Jean Kalman for the Opera de Lyon in Lenz, an opera by Wolfgang Rhim. He has since worked with many dance companies, directors and composers, such as Susanne Linke, Ingun Bjørnsgaard, LaborGras, Robert Wilson, Yoshi Oida, Sara Ostertag, and for different Opera Houses as English National Opera, Opera de Lyon, Komische Oper Berlin, The Norwegian Opera & Ballet, New National Theater Tokyo, and Tokyo Metropolitan Theater. With Yoshi Oidas The Maids he won the Time Out Award 2003 in London.
