Julien Guibourg
Julien Guibourg is a dancer from Vence, France. They started dancing at 8 years old and began their preprofessional training at 15 under the direction of Adeline Raynaud at l’Atelier Dans’emoi in Cannes. In 2021, they graduated from the Opus Ballet School in Florence, Italy, where they trained professionally in contemporary dance and ballet. Towards the end of the course, they joined the Compagnia Opus Ballet (COB) as an apprentice and had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Arianna Benedetti and Daniele Bianco.
In 2022, Julien attended the International Contemporary Dance programme at the Nuova Officina Della Danza in Turin, Italy, directed by Silvana Ranaudo. At that time they worked with many choreographers such as Tom Weinberger, Ella Rothschild, Doug Letheren, Spenser Theberge, Elias Lazaridis and Luca Signoretti. They also performed in pieces by Michael Loehr and Alex Wolf. After the programme, they have worked for the choreographer Alena Tarasova on the piece “MyLand” which was performed at the Origen Festival in Switzerland.
Julien is interested in exploring the human body’s capacities through movement and different physicalities but also in how feelings can be felt and expressed through dance.
Julien was part of NSP 2 for the season 2022-23.
