Ian Ancheta

Ian Yves Ancheta is a Swedish/Filipino dancer and choreographer based in Norway. He graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2019 and worked as a dancer with companies such as Nagelhus Schia Productions, Conny Janssen Danst, Panta Rei Danseteater, and Jo Strømgren Kompani. As a creative artist, Ancheta’s work often finds itself flirting with situations that are out of our control. Uncertainty is invited into space to engage the audience in dealing with the risks of a live performance. The eagerness to learn to deal with complexity and the unknown as a society is the driving force of his explorations.

Supported by the Dutch production house Dansateliers since 2019, Ancheta’s works have been presented and toured in festivals such as BMotion (2022), Moving Futures (2022), and Amsterdam Fringe (2021).

Ian was part of NSP 2 (2021-2022).
