Damien Jalet
Damien Jalet is an internationally acclaimed Belgian and French choreographer. He is often working across disciplines such as visual art, music, cinema, theatre and fashion in a constant search of reinventing the boundaries of dance.
He has collaborated with choreographers and artists such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Erna Omarsdottir, Marina Abramovic, Gilles Delmas, Nawa Kohei, Madonna and Ryuichi Sakamoto, and companies such as Ballet C. de la B., Sasha Waltz and Guests, Chunky Move, Eastman, NYDC, Hessiches Staatballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Scottish Dance Theatre, Icelandic Dance Company and Gothenburg Dance.
Recently he choreographed the film ‘Suspiria’ directed by Luca Guadagnino and ‘Anima’ by Paul Thomas Anderson starring Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, and created four numbers on Madonna’s first theatre tour in 2019. Jalet was entitled Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2013.
