Damien Fournier

Damien Fournier is a former circus artist, trained at the National Center for Circus Arts (CNAC) in France. While at the CNAC he worked with personalities like Francis Viet, Pal Frenak and Pierre Doussaint, who influenced his orientation towards contemporary dance.

For the last 22 years, he performed for and with Josef Nadj, Guy Alloucherie, Giorgio Barberrio Corsetti, Helder Seabra, Françoise Gillard, Kitsou Dubois and Alexandra Waierstall. 

Since 2006 he joined Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and worked as performer, rehearsal director and assistant choreographer. He was involved in the shows Intermezzo, Myth, Babel, Puz/zle, Sutra, 4D, m!longa, Sutra and the movie Anna Karenina.

In 2018, he extended his working field and started choreographing for the contemporary danse school of Hamburg and created Somewhere in between, Beyond the spine, Wartenummer 01/09/1939 and Barbed wire.
